With over 13 years experience training and handling detection dogs in multiple capabilities and disciplines for both detection Dogs SA and the Police, Dean’s knowledge and enthusiasm for scent detection is reflected in the high quality of canines he works and trains. Di French
Di began her career as a Police Officer with SA Police before joining Australian Customs (now Border Force) in 2005, where she worked as a Narcotics Detector Dog Handler. This role required precision, integrity, and the highest operational standards while working alongside highly trained detector dogs in demanding environments.
She went on to spend three years training her own canine partner
Jax, in search and rescue before transitioning into truffle detection.
This phase of her career was refined through hands-on work with the experienced professionals at Detection Dogs SA. Di continually strives to expand her canine handling expertise across multiple disciplines, including biosecurity detection—an area of critical
importance in South Australia.
Di is committed to building strong, meaningful partnerships with her dogs, founded on trust, motivation and enjoyment. Ensuring that each dog genuinely loves their work is central to her approach and underpins the reliable, professional detection outcomes she aims to deliver.

Our Commitment to Excellence
At Detection Dogs SA, we are committed to delivering excellence in every aspect of our services. Our team is dedicated to upholding the highest quality standards, ensuring that our clients receive the most reliable and effective detection dog solutions available.
